Wrap Your Rod

Transporting rods & reels in vehicle and boats can sometimes be a hassle and on occasion even a safety hazard. Outfits get tangled with each other and if you carry your rods in vertical rod holders, rough sea conditions can cause hooks to become unbuttoned and start flying all over the boat.

An easy way to solve these problems is to wrap the line around the rod. Secure the hook as you normally would, then grab the line half way between the hook and rod tip, wrap it once or twice around the rod and secure it over one of the guides. This keeps the line against the blank, which helps prevent the rods from getting entwined and keeps the hooks were they belong.
