Summertime Tackle

We as Sportsmen are into catch & release and are always challenging ourselves by trying to catch the biggest fish we can on the lightest tackle possible.

This is great, but in the summer when the water temperatures are in the high 80's and low 90's a prolonged battle caused by using light tackle can be very detrimental to the fish.

Instead of using 8lbs. gear for Redfish for example, try using 12lbs. or even 15lbs. outfits. Heavier tackle is going to allow you to whip and release that fish quicker. And because summertime water is usually stained, your bite ratio shouldn't suffer much by using heavier line.
