Presenting Artificials To Tarpon

Why a 3 ½" bait will scare the BAJEEBBERS out of a 6' fish is unknown, but if that bait is presented improperly it'll do just that.

If the fish are moving toward you, try to cast your bait directly in front of the Tarpon and pull it away from them on a slight angle back to the boat.

If you're lucky enough to find a pod of daisy chaining fish, DO NOT throw your bait in the middle of them. Instead, you want to throw to the left of them or the right of them. If the fish are turning clockwise, throw to the right. If they're turning counter clockwise, throw to the left.

It's simple, just make sure that your lure or fly is NOT being pulled at the fish. It's much more natural looking, for a bait to flee from a Tarpon, as a posed to getting in it's face.
